About Manlee

Manlee W is a dedicated professional wellness coach with over two decades of experience as a yoga and mindfulness meditation practitioner. Being multilingual, Manlee has led more than a thousand of yoga and meditation classes, sound bath retreats, wellness workshops and holistic events both overseas and locally in Newbury, West Berkshire, inspiring thousands of individuals on their wellness journeys. Since relocating to Newbury in 2024, she has quickly become a valued part of the local wellness community, and now teaches regular classes at David Lloyd Newbury in addition to her offerings at Embrace Wellness.

Manlee is a multi-certified professional: a hypnotist, yoga teacher, sound healer, and wellness coach. Her integrative, east-meets-west wellness approach is rooted in yoga philosophy and combines ancient wisdom with modern science.

Her expertise extends beyond wellness; she is also a skilled cross-media communication specialist with extensive international and local experience. Her voice-overs have been featured in wellness events, news broadcasts, documentaries, commercials, animations, stage plays, public announcements and more.

With her pleasant and soothing voice, Manlee flexibly adjusts the rhythm, pitch, and intonation of her speaking while seamlessly integrating her expertise in hypnosis, the restorative sounds of Tibetan and Crystal singing bowls, and her knowledge of psychology. This unique approach helps her guide participants in adjusting their breathing pace, mindfully meditating, and expanding their sense of awareness, ultimately leading to profound self-nourishment.

Drawing from the inner wisdom gained through life’s twists and turns, Manlee approaches every wellness session with great compassion and professional knowledge, committing to fostering a deep sense of wellbeing in her clients.

My Wellness Journey

Growing up in a complicated family background where violence, harsh words, and financial struggles were a daily reality, my home often felt anything, but, never a sanctuary.

One dark night in 1994, when I was 6 years old, I found myself hiding in the lower bunk of my bed, overwhelmed by the noise of conflict in the living room. In that moment of chaos, I closed my eyes, and amidst shallow breathing, I began to take deep breaths. Oh, whoa! For the first time, I saw the entire galaxy with my eyes closed! It was my first taste of that blissful inner peace. From that moment, I realised everything I needed was already inside me. Yes, at the age of 6 – how lovely it was! ☺

Yoga is not just about exercise; it’s a way to reconnect my body and mind and liberate my spirit.

Despite being born with multiple spinal issues: scoliosis, intervertebral disc degeneration, fusion and lateral protrusion of spinal discs; I tried to remain an active teen. From dancing to martial arts to running, I threw myself into various activities, often pushing my limits and injuring myself along the way. (I know some of you may be surprised by my ongoing health challenges if you’ve practiced yoga with me, but it’s true!)

Family issues became rocky during high school, leading to mental fluctuations that triggered health issues in my digestive system. This experience made me realise how closely mental health is linked to physical health, and it had been tough to handle. But at 16, still unaware of what “yoga” really meant, I enrolled in a yoga class, just because it was the most affordable option at the community centre, haha! Little did I know, this year, 2004, was the start of my transformative wellness adventure!

As I practiced yoga, I began to tune into every little part of my body and gained awareness of how each body part is interconnected. To my and my chiropractor’s surprise, my X-rays eventually showed that my scoliosis had improved significantly, and I experienced a renewed sense of vitality in my body. More importantly, I reached a state where my mental-emotional fluctuations became still. I felt stronger, more balanced, and ready to embrace every twist and turn life threw my way. I finally felt complete.

You might chuckle when I say my childhood hobby was watching the news, but I’ve always felt a calling to stand up for those in need. This love for storytelling led me to study journalism and mass communication, and later, crosscultural communication in graduate school. I was blessed to have the opportunity to work as a journalist, TV presenter, and professional emcee for corporate events, discovering the healing potential of my voice along the way.

My passion for yoga has inspired me to study it in depth, focusing beyond just the asanas (physical practice); I explore the intricate systems of anatomy and physiology, embrace the sacred art of teaching, and delve into the profound wisdom of yogic philosophy, applying the Eight Limbs of Yoga in my daily life. I feel grateful to have completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training in Koh Phangan, Thailand, a beautiful place known for its spiritual atmosphere, where I was fortunate to receive notable recognition in all sections, demonstrating my dedication to the study of yoga.

My curiosity about the mind has driven me to a continuous exploration of various fields, such as hypnosis, psychology, dream analysis, and graphology, leading to professional qualifications that have shaped my current path in wellness coaching.

Fifteen years ago, my yoga teacher from Nepal introduced me to the enchanting sound of Tibetan Singing Bowls, planting a seed in my heart that has since blossomed into a deep connection with their vibrations. This profound experience inspired me to immerse myself in ancient wisdom and authentic traditions, studying Tibetan Singing Bowl Sound Healing and Thai massage with masters from around the globe, further enriching my wellness coaching power.

With over a decade of experience in providing crosscultural communication services to corporate clients, I’ve come to appreciate the profound impact that wellness can have in the workplace. It’s about more than just programmes; it’s about creating an environment where employees feel valued and supported.

I envision crafting initiatives that nurture a culture of wellbeing, where individuals can thrive, not just as professionals but as whole people. In this space, employees can flourish both personally and professionally, discovering fulfilment and joy in their daily lives.

Deep within each of us lies a unique wisdom waiting to be unlocked. With a heart of resilience and a spirit of humility, I draw upon my professional expertise and life experiences to ignite a spark in others. As we walk along, we create boundless possibilities together.
